- There is an excellent spell checker called MicroSPELL that works very
- well with TeX stuff. I have set up my user options from within the
- TeXShell program to call this spell checker.
- On the positive side:
- - the program is free
- - can build/use your own dictionaries
- - has a built-in "fuzzy" search feature (much like ispell or WordPerfect(r))
- this allows the user to select the proper word from a list of alternatives
- - the program can reside in memory (TSR)
- - there are a lot of extra goodies along with the package (for example,
- specialized dictionaries (math for one))
-
- On the negative side:
- - The documentation is written in Japanese, however, you can figure out
- most of the stuff with just a little diligence.
-
- This is the closest to ispell that I have seen and is a very good spell
- checker.
-
- ftp from utsun.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp (sorry don't have IP number handy)
- look in ~/fj/fj.binaries.msdos/v007
- files are as follows (from the archive index file):
- #000470 v007i0001-0009 spljge.lzh spell checker MicroSPELL 1.0JG
- #000471 v007i0010-0013 spljgd.lzh English Dictionary for MicroSPELL 1.0JG
- #000472 v006i0014-0017 spljgs.lzh Source files of MicroSPELL 1.0JG
-
- Good luck!
