- I mounted Bureau Development's "Great Literature" CD, an ISO9660 CD-ROM which
- has "the full text of 1896 literary classics" on my Sun system running
- Sun OS 4.1.2, hoping to browse through it. I also tried accessing
- the disk through Sun PC, a 8086 DOS emulator based on SoftPC technology.
-
- I'm having problems. In any case, the most immediate is the following,
- whenever I simply do an "ls" at the mountpoint (or do a DIR within DOS),
- I get the following console messages:
-
- Dec 24 18:00:24 arktos vmunix: hsfs: filetype (0x5) not supported
- Dec 24 18:00:24 arktos vmunix: hsfs: filetype (0x4) not supported
-
- A secondary problem is that access to the CD-ROM under DOS is via a network
- drive, and the DOS software on the disk which accesses the CD-ROM wants
- the MSCDEX extensions, and complains that they're not present. I can
- _almost_ get around this, by running the program with the CD as the
- current working directory, but obtaining the data fails later (and with
- more console messages as above.)
-
- Anyone know what the file types 4 and 5 are?
