  12. In an attempt to read some tar files from the SCSI tape drive (of a 
  13. Sparcstation 1), I keep getting the message "Media error: I/O error".
  14. A similar message showed up when I tried to use "dd".  Is there
  15. something wrong with the tape drive?  The tape reads and writes fine
  16. on another machine, so it shouldn't be the problem.
