- Is there anybody out there who has more than 32 megs of RAM in
- a Sun 3/280 and actually has it working? That is to say the system sees
- and uses the memory above 32megs?
-
- The configuration guide says 32 megs is the max, but there are only
- 4 slots for memory and Sun only made 8 meg memory cards, so using Sun memory
- I would expect 32 megs to be the max because of physical limitations.
-
- But I've heard second hand from two different sources now of people
- using 3rd party memory cards to go to 64 megs.
-
- Right now I've got two Sun 8-meg cards and a Clearpoint 16-meg card.
- I tried stuffing in another Sun 8-meg card and then the system only recognized
- 16 megs rather than 40, or even the 32 that already existed.
-
- If there is a way to go over 32 megs on a Sun 3/280 I'd love to hear
- about it. If you've got one configured with over 32 megs and it actually
- recognizes it, I'd love to hear what you did to get it to work.
-
- Thanks in advance!
