- shipping files all around my net. Or do you call forcing your users to

- I doubt that will be very noticeable. NIS too often get a bad rap.
- Yes, there are security problems, yes, there are gotchas, but overall
- it works. For me, I have a network of now 31 machines. I use rdist
- fairly heavily, but I still use NIS for everthing it was designed for
- except hosts(5). I have secured up 95% of the security holes regarding
- NIS, and it suits me very well. I'd hate to think what I'd have to do
- if I had to shut down NIS.
