  15. Just one(hopefully simple) question about rdist.

  17. How does rdist handle programs that are actively running on the 
  18. remote host..

  20. For example, if someone is running X windows
  21. and you rdist a new copy of X windows to his fileserver
  22. does rdist to the right thing and either unlink or rename
  23. has program to keep from over writing the disk image..
  24.  
  25. Overwriting a program when someone is running it will most likely 
  26. cause the program to "core dump". This is because 
  27. the system will "swap"(the text part) of the executable back to itself.
  28.  
  29. Finally, do any of you use "sup" or "track" instead 
  30. to keep your software distributions up to date??? (for people
  31. how do not know "sup" and "track" pull instead of push the
  32. new files..
