  30. flight_8bit is the version of flight that you have always had on the PI.

  33. The long answer:

  35. Since the GT there have been two versions of flight.
  36.  
  37.    - Color index, non-zbuffered, simple geometry.  This is now flight_8bit.
  38.  
  39.    - RGB, lighted, zbuffered, complex geometry.  This is now called flight.
  40.  
  41. It used to be that these two versions were never both shipped on one system.
  42. As of 4.0.5 a desire arose to ship both of them.  Thus the renaming.

  44. In the future there will be only one version of flight that will be capable
  45. of running in the way that both of these run.
