  23. I did not mean to dump on the engineering folks at SGI, I realize how
  24. hard you work.  I was pointing out that things are decided upon for
  25. good reasons, but somtimes that information does not make it to the
  26. end user.

  28. I have spoken with no less than 20 people that have been suprised or
  29. angered at some of the things I mentioned.  Somehow the marketing
  30. information did not make it out with the engineering information ( as
  31. is very common in technical sales ) and SGI is as a company not
  32. pointing out this phenomenon well.  This is not suprising, for
  33. marketing people do not say "it goes slower if you spend more money"
  34. very well.  This is an ongoing mistake.

  36. The incontrovertable evidence that it is a mistake is the volume of
  37. people that keep running into it, and being suprised.

  39. In general, keep up the good work, but make sure it gets to market
  40. correctly and clearly.
