  14. System V].

  16. "Industry executives and analysts said that the decision to put the Unix
  17. operating system under the control of a single independent software publisher
  18. set the stage for a direct confrontation with Microsoft.

  20. "The sale of USL marks the second stage of AT&T's decision to gradually
  21. relinquish control over the operating system program that has served as the
  22. d8battlegroud for many of the battles for the control of the direction of the
  23. computer industry since the mid-80's. [Novell has been a shareholder in USL
