- The machine has 128KB RAM, which is partitioned into system RAM and RAM
- disk. This is adjustable using the fdisk utility that is built into
- the machine. From what I remember the maximum RAM disk size was 80KB,
- I don't know the minimum. A certain amount of system RAM is needed for
- overhead. RAM cards are available up to at least 128KB, these are not
- PCMCIA compatible, and so are not compatible with what the HP-95LX and
- other PCMCIA machines. Nor are the cards the same was what is used on
- the HP-48SX or Smith-Corona machines. I've heard that certain
- synthesizers use the same kind of cards as the Atari.
-
- There is a third party upgrade for the machine, and some kind of PCMCIA
- option. You can get postings on the Atari and several other palmtops
- via anonymous ftp from csd4.csd.uwm.edu:/pub/Palmtop.
-
- The Atari is a nifty cheap little machine, however it hasn't been
- supported well by either Atari or third parties. Be aware that there
- are several other machines available such as the Psion 3, HP-95LX,
- Fujitsu Poqet, Sharp PC-3x000, and various dedicated organisers.
