- The division is not between 3x and 2x but between "current system" and
- "back-level system". I'd prefer to see comp.os.netware and comp.os.netware.old.
- Perhaps we could set a timescale of 1 year of general availability of Netware
- 4.0 before 3x becomes "old"... General questions about Netware could then go
- into comp.os.netware without being version-specific.
-
- comp.os.netware.programmer is probably enough. Surely the number of people
- doing serious programming on 2x is tiny.
-
- There perhaps ought to be a separate group for CNE issues. Some of us have no
- interest in this area, especially those of us outside the US, I'd guess.
- Also, how about comp.os.netware.mac and comp.os.netware.printing? Again,
- it probably isn't worth creating version-specific groups.
-
- Nobody has suggested comp.protocols.netware, which is a sad reflection on the
- 'openness', or lack of it, as Netware as a true distributed system rather than
- a magic set of PC programs.
