- Greetings to those assembled!
-
- I wish to tap the collected knowledge here. I have a project that
- will require communication from Novell Netware client stations to
- Unix servers as well as other Netware servers possibly/probably on
- another other 'domains.' I would like to use streams or sockets to
- accomplish this communication. So, the client station application
- sends a 'message' the a server somewhere on the network and data is
- returned via the same method.
-
- A. Can this be done? I have heard that Netware supports sockets and
- streams.
-
- B. What additional software must be purchased on each server/client?
- Please don't tell me I must have NFS on every server...
-
- C. What software/libraries are needed to code/compile such a system?
-
- D. Is there a Freeware/commercial system that will do this messaging
- already. (why reinvent the wheel?)
-
- This has gotten longer than I had planned and probably raises more
- questions than I answered about what is needed. If you have any ideas
- or pointers to examples or just what a more detailed description of what
- it is that I am trying to do, Please let me know. Thanks...
