- I'm having a problem with my NetWare 3.11 server (486/EISA/16Meg/SCSI).
- The problem is that occasionally it will "lose" space, as in when you
- delete something (especially directories), it will not free up the
- space that the directory used, although it no longer exists. I think
- I have it tracked down to a PC magazine utility called NUKE.COM that
- a someone was using (although I could be wrong).
-
- I've run VRepair, and it didn't report any errors. Here is the
- output of chkvol and chkdir:
-
- [ F:\>chkdir
- [ Directory Space Limitation Information For:
- [ RMF\SYS:
- [
- [ Maximum In Use Available
- [ 632,136 K 618,512 K 13,616 K Volume Size
- [ 559,280 K 13,616 K \
- [ F:\>chkvol
- [ Statistics for fixed volume RMF/SYS:
- [
- [ Total volume space: 632,136 K Bytes
- [ Space used by files: 618,512 K Bytes
- [ Space in use by deleted files: 212 K Bytes
- [ Space available from deleted files: 204 K Bytes
- [ Space remaining on volume: 13,616 K Bytes
- [ Space available to SUPERVISOR: 13,616 K Bytes
-
- Does anyone have an idea what I can do about this (To free up
- the extra 60Meg)?
-
- Thanks in advance.

- The only thing that is impossible to do in Unix is to figure out
