- I'm having a problem with NFS print services on a Novell 3.11 server.
- (Who doesn't right?) The whole purpose of this is so that someone can
- print to a Unix printer or a Novell printer using the print features
- of NFS without logging onto the server that has NFS installed on it.
- What should happen is that a workstation prints to a queue on server2,
- server2 then passes the job to server1 and then server1 passes the job to
- the unix workstaion that the printer is attached to. What happens is that
- server2 doesn't pass the job onto server1. I can print a job to the queue
- on server1 and it goes to the unix printer fine.
-
- Here's my setup:
-
- Server1:
- Compaq 486DX2/66
- Compaq Netflex 32bit ethernet card
- Novell v3.11
- Pconsole v1.51
- NFS v1.2
- NFS print services running with printers defined as remote/other. This
- print server has been told to service both server1 and server2.
-
- Server2:
- Compaq 486DX2/66
- Compaq Netflex 32bit ethernet card
- Novell v3.11
- A print server (regular Novell not NFS) has been defined using the exact
- configuration as the NFS print server except that it isn't loaded.
-
- A unix based workstaion with a printer attached to it.
-
-
- I'm starting to think that the problem is that both print servers have to
- configure the printers as remote/other. Novell says that everything is setup
- properly and to trash everything and start over. Didn't work.
-
- Has anyone done this or have any ideas?
- Just trying to stretch that budget!
