  13.     We're looking at purchasing an HP LaserJet 4 to connect to our
  14. Novell NetWare network, and I was wondering about a few things.

  16. What we're planning on getting:

  18.     HP LaserJet 4
  19.      - PostScript
  20.      - JetDirect Ethernet card for Novell Netware.

  22. Now, my questions are:

  24.     1.  How well will this work with the vanilla Novell printing
  25. software?  For instance, when we've used dedicated print servers in the past
  26. (using PSERVER.EXE), we've had problems with printing graphics.  Will
  27. we have problems with the LJ4, since I assume it looks like a NetWare
  28. print server?  Do we need something like LANSpool to make this work well?

  30.     2.  If we attach Macs to our network (which we intend to do),
  31. under NW4Mac will we be able to use this printer?  Do we need a specific
  32. version of NW4Mac?  (We have v 3.01 I think)  If not, what can we do to
  33. provide connectivity to this printer?

  35.     3.  This is less network directed, and more general.  HP claims
  36. that due to their memory compression, most 600dpi documents can be printed
  37. in the standard 2M.  Now we plan og getting at least 6M, but will that
  38. suffice for all our needs?  Memory is cheap enough so that I'd rather have
  39. extra, but if we really won't need it, there's no point in spending the
  40. money.
