- We are running a Netware 386 network with 48+ workstations.
- Right now, our clients are configured using a packet driver,
- then IPX, then NETX. The packet driver is card-specific.
- We also run TCP/IP packets over the network simultaneously.
-
- We are now being encouraged to upgrade to Netware ODI. My
- understanding is that ODI is similar to NDIS in that it
- does away with the need for card-specific drivers, but I
- don't really know that much about ODI.
-
- Can someone post a short summary of how Netware ODI differs
- from the Netware 386 we are currently using. What advantages
- are there to us switching to ODI? Disadvantages? Cost is not
- an issue here. We are being offered the upgrade for free.
-
- Also, a BIG question: What changes will be necessary to our
- server and/or client software in order to convert to ODI?
