  12. Thanks to all the folks who sent messages on my disk partition disappearance
  13. problem.  The bottom line is: we had to repartition and restore from 
  14. backup.  :-(  The good news is: the restore worked!  ;-)  
  15. Technical result was also a confirmation that when the disk became full
  16. a day or so before, the partition table was overwritten by a file that 
  17. the system thought was being written into the last few available 
  18. sectors at the end of the disk.  A sort of "wrap" problem.  We have 
  19. defined a smaller partition, in hopes that this will not occur again.
