- -----------
-
- My environment: Netware 3.11; lab of 386s with Western
- Digital Elite 16 Plus Ethernet (SMC8000) cards using type II
- Ethernet packets; router for our Internet connection.
-
- Here is my net.cfg file at workstation.
-
- #
- # net.cfg file for SMC8000
- #
- Link Support
- Protocol IPXODI
- Bind SMC8000
- Link Driver SMC8000
- Frame Ethernet_II
- Protocol IPXODI 8137 Ethernet_II
-
- Port #1 280
- Mem #1 000D0000 2000/10
- Int #1 3
- #
- # net.cfg end
- #
-
- Batch file loads LSL fine, SMC8000 fine and when loading
- IPXODI, I get the following error:
-
- FATAL: Specified board does not support IPX (See
- Protocol keyword)
-
- I want the DOS workstation to be able to get on the Internet
- for FTP and Telnet at the moment (one step at a time).
-
- ***** QUESTIONS *****
-
- 1. How does the NET.CFG file need to be altered?
-
-
- 2. Should my procedure at the workstation be:
- LSL
- SMC8000
- IPXODI
- NETX
- or
- LSL
- SMC8000
- TCPIP
- IPTUNNEL (do I need this at all for my app?)
- IPXODI
- NET3
-
- 3. Is the NETX.COM a generic to be used with any version
- of DOS or is it best to use the specific (net3 or net5)?
-
-
- ----------
-
- Again - Thanks!
