- I've got an IBM PS/2 95 for my server and finally have permission and
- funding to upgrade the processor. I've heard conflicting stories about
- these clock doubling chips and servers. Some say that these processors are
- ineffective in speeding up the server (I don't remember the reasons given
- for this). Others say that these processors give some performance increase
- but not equivalent to the "real" processor.
-
- So, does it do me any good to move my server from an 80486-33 to 80486DX2-50
- or 80486DX2-66? Should I try to get the $$$$ to move to the 80486-50
- instead? It'll cost me almost 3 times as much to go to the 486-50 as the
- DX2-66.
-
- I don't want to sit on this too long (they might change their minds and take
- the $$$$ back) - yet I don't want to waste the money either.
-
- All help & suggestions are appreciated,
- Steven Klepzig (sklepzi@ssb1.saff.utah.edu)
