- Is there any way to do this? My .tar.Z file comes up with an
- error halfway through:
-
- Directory checksum: 1089 != 27893
-
- or something like this (made up the numbers). Can I uncompress
- the tar file and fix it somehow? (I just want to skip the bad
- block or the bad file and read the rest of the files).
-
- This came up while reading from a bad floppy... the file copies
- but the data is corrupted. Is there a way to fix the floppy?
- I tried running:
-
- root% fsck /dev/fd0a
-
-
- but this didn't seem to do anything.
-
-
- Please email me with tips, suggestions or a step by step method

- Thanks,
