  12. Thanks for all the replies.  I'll summarize the solution(s).
  13.
  14. When adding a second external drive the NeXT documentation says to
  15. add the following line to /etc/fstab:
  16.
  17.     /dev/sd1a /External 4.3 rw,noquota,noauto 0 2
  18.
  19. where /External is the desired mount point on your host (let's call
  20. it <hostserver>).  The consensus is that the ,noauto option is
  21. neither needed nor desired.  I removed it and things appear to work
  22. well.
  23.
  24. However, there is another piece to the puzzle in order to permit
  25. other machines on the Netinfo network to be able to see and mount the
  26. new External drive.  Even if the mount on the host machine
  27. <hostserver> causes the new drive to appear off the root directory,
  28. say as /External, that drive/directory won't show up under
  29. /Net/hostserver/External on the other machines on the Netinfo
  30. network.
  31.
  32. The trick is that, since the new disk is another physical device, it
  33. has to exported separately from <hostserver>.  I ran NFSManager and
  34. added a separate export entry for /External on <hostserver>.  Then in
  35. my Netinfo domain I added an entry to mount hostserver:/External as
  36. /External on the other machines.  Bingo, it works.
  37.
  38. Hope this helps.
  39.
  40. Thanks again everyone for all the replies.  And Happy Holidays!  I'm
  41. outta here.
