- Whoever can help,
-
- I've been working on getting two next to talk via uucp. I've made a entry
- in the L.sys file to communicate to the remote next. I've also added an
- entry for L-devices for a direct link. I've tested my connection using
- tip to ensure it wasn't a cable problem (I was able to login without a
- problem). I've also run "uucico -r1 -x9 -sremote" and I'm able to get
- onto the machine. It logs in, sits at the prompt and eventually times
- out. So it seems that uucp is working somewhat. My problem occurs when I
- try to send mail. The mail gets queued up because the "uux" command is
- used with a -r option. My understanding (limited), when uucico runs it
- will look in the spool directory and initiate the transfers. (right or
- wrong). Well this never happens. It just logs in and thats it folks. I
- never get anything telling me whether it worked or didn't work. Also uux
- commands doesn't work. It appears like it executed, but the command just
- gets queued. There are entries in the D. and C. directories telling me
- what I was trying to do. The log files tell me the job has been queued.
- I'm lost. Does some process need to run on the remote system for this to
- work? What? When I try uucp to copy a file to the remote system I get a
- bus error? Has anyone else experience this? Help!!!! If possible, leave a
- number so I can call. Thanks!
