  13. In all adds and datasheets of the NeXT Computer, it was said, that with
  14. DisplayPostScript, one will have REAL WYSIWYG, her a short extract:

  16. 4.    A unified imaging system - Display PostScript (R) - for both the
  17.     display and the printer. So what you see on the screen is
  18.     unequivocally what you get on paper.

  21. So, I've got some .ps Files from the net, and let the show up in
  22. Preview, which led to an error (BoundingBox ? ? ? ?), so I loaded the
  23. File into 'Yap', and it worked! 
  24. After removing the 'Bounding Box' in the Header, of the File, it went
  25. without error through 'Preview', BUT there was NO output on the screen,
  26. just a white window. So, when I printed the page, I got some perfect
  27. 400dpi PostScript drawings.

  29. So, where did the damn WYSIWYG go to ??

  31. Also, some other files produced errors in Yap, did'n show anything on
  32. the screen with 'Preview', but as well, they made sense on the paper.

  34. Ok, so what files were they, well just some very odd Macintosh
  35. PS-outputs, BUT that should not be any problem, because PS grew on the
  36. Macintosh, before other Systems used it largely.
  37. They where all produced with 'Print Monitor', and are as far as I see,
  38. already a little bit pre-processed for the Laser Writer:

  53. Ok, now I but some of those funny Pages through 'psnup', and I get
  54. really some interesting results: They show almost perfect in 'Yap'
  55. (forget 'Preview'...), but on the paper, they come out MIRRORED!
  56. It didn't change when I disabled page reversal so, it's strange,
  57. because, I can print them the normal way...
