  13. I just played around with ptroff, for having a Man Page, which is
  14. suitable for printing.
  15. My First problem was the following:
  16. When I run a man-page through tbl, it exited with 'bus error'.
  17. After playing a little bit with the File, I found the solution, the
  18. NeXT-tbl doesn't accept things like this:
  19. l l
  20. - -
  21. l l
  22. First_Title Second_Title
  23. fist second
  24.  
  25. although the following just produced some funny output, and an error:
  26. l l
  27. - 
  28. l l
  29. ( Input: line xx: Data ignored on table line 2

  33. Ok, ok i know, if you Place an undersocre in the line preeceding 'first'
  34. you will get it, BUT I don't like it, to edit every 100k man-page that
  35. comes from the net, so I'd appreciate, if 'tbl' would work as intended.

  37. After that, I moved some ManPages through ptroff, and tryed, to reformat
  38. them from Letter to A4, without success,
  39. Neither
  40.     ptroff -t -l 297mm
  41. nor
  42.     ptroff -t -s A4
  43. did something useable, both produced the same, it looked like an A4 page
  44. seen through a Frame of Letter-Size: the top of The Page had been cut,
  45. and the next page already showed up at the bottom.
  46. To make things worse, if you want to reformat it with 'psnup', it won't
  47. come out of 'psnup' as A4 as well, so, the Pages get gut on the end,
  48. because someone thinks, that the Page is some .5in shorter than it
  49. acutally is.

  51. I'd appreciate any suggestions, comments to those problems (tbl & ptroff
  52. with non-Letter formating)
