  33. Assuming you have already done the good thing for Icon.app
  34. from NS2.1 using IconPatch (q.v.) and therefore have your
  35. (large) shared libraries from 2.1 in the right place, fixing
  36. Scene to work under 3.0 is dirt-simple: you drag and drop
  37. the icon of the unpatched Scene onto the ScenePatch.app's
  38. panel and zip! all's well.  I gave it try, worked like a
  39. champ.

  41. Bravos to Karl, he's my current hero.  But be aware that I'm
  42. fickle; my hero is always the person who's done the most for
  43. me *lately*!  :-)

  45. In response to suggestions received from several quarters
  46. that I create a submissions directory on yak, sorry, no can
  47. do.  I'm getting short on disk space myself, so I have to
  48. confine it a few specialized items.

  50. I feel sorry for the person (I think it's a student
  51. volunteer) at sonata who has to maintain things there.  It's
  52. clearly badly hosed at the moment.  Also, I discovered this
  53. morning that the copy of ScenePatch.app at cs.orst.edu is
  54. also hosed (no executable inside there), though Karl will
  55. probably have fixed that by the time you see this.

  57. While I'm at it: things you can find on my machine include
  58. the latest C-Kermit, the latest Elm mail user agent, my
  59. login tiff collection, some documentation on Icon (but I'm
  60. in the process of improving that, I hope), and a few other
  61. things.

  63. Here's hoping 1993 is the greatest year ever for NeXT and
  64. NeXT users.  In any case, get safely through the coming
