I am interested in editing the dictionary used by the Edit app. When
using the spell checker in Edit, clicking on the Learn button does
not seem to add the word in question to the dictionary database. In
particular, after quitting Edit and calling it up again, the word we
had hoped Edit would "Learn" appears as a misspelling. There should
be a way of modifying the dictionary database but I can not find it.
Admittedly, I have not looked very hard but asking for help is a lot
easier.
While I have someone's attention, here is another question. I wish to prepare a file on my Next and transfer it via kermit to the Vax through which I am linked to internet world. I prepare the file in Edit, say, putting in carriage returns say at a line length of 60 characters. I send the file either in binary or ascii mode and the same thing happens at the Vax end - all formatting is lost. That is, lines do no break where they do in the original file. Is there a way to transmit via kermit the files
