- NeXT doesn't bundle it because the type of cable you need depends on whether
- you alredy have a SCSI device. Many people do, so to add the CD-ROM, you
- need a SCSI-1 to SCSI-1 cable (and no extra terminator). If the CD-ROM is
- your first SCSI device, then you need the special SCSI-2 to SCSI-1 cable
- and a terminator. These cables are too expensive to include them and
- expect the user to just eat the cost if they didn't need it.
-
- I'm sure your not the only one that didn't know this. But most (if not
- all) of the NeXT liturature says something like (needs SCSI cable) when
- it talks about the CD-ROM, and when I called NeXT to get the part
- number of the 3.0 upgrade package, the person made a point of telling
- me that I also needed to order the cable.
-
- BTW, I have my 3.0 disk, and my SCSI cable, but still no CD-ROM drive. I
- too was told it would ship last week.
