  27. Our tech support has worked with many people that have
  28. never brought up a terminal window, much less written
  29. shell scripts.

  38. Opener (or unsit which it invokes) will deal with StuffIt
  39. files. MetroTools works directly with uncompressed
  40. MacBinary downloads (of which there are quite a few).
  41. Between the two, there are hundreds of tyepfaces
  42. available for use without having access to a Mac.

  44. We have a lot of customers though that are migrating from
  45. Macs to NeXTs, and already have uncompressed font
  46. libraries on Mac disk volumes of one sort or another. For
  47. them, MetroTools is the fastest, cheapest alternative.

  56. Mac, then dealing with the rest by hand, you're not saving
  57. any money over MetroTools. Don't get me wrong - Meta Pro is
  58. a great product that does things MetroTools can't. It
  59. isn't a less expensive alternative though. And with
  60. MetroTools you get all those other nifty tools... :-)
