  24. Another data point: got mine today (12/21/92).  And, I ordered it on 9/11/92,  
  25. so they're coming...

  27. A reminder: the backorders are not a NeXT-specific problem.  A few weeks ago I  
  28. posted some info detailing massive backorder problems throughout the industry,  
  29. with a focus on the backorder problems at the top half dozen or so computer  
  30. companies.  If you canceled your order, and got a different CD-ROM drive from  
  31. another source, and if you got it from that source faster than NeXT would have  
  32. gotten it to you, then you either (1) got lucky, or (2) paid a premium, or (3)  
  33. got lucky AND paid a premium.  So, for those that got impatient (oh ye of  
  34. little faith in NeXT) and paid a premium from another source: was it worth it?
