- We are the Santa Clara Division of HP and are currently using V8 tools

- Yes, over a year ago - don't recall much aabout it.
-

-
- No, we've created our own in-house system of LM -- not too sure we
- did "the right thing", but we didn't want the libraries and
- library management available directly from Mentor because we
- wanted to make this an HP-wide library system and Mentor's
- technique's were pretty limiting.

- > Other comments about V8:
-
- We were ready for a switch from our multi-cultural (read that
- chaotic) vendor set that we had used up to now.. everyone at
- HP had chosen a different set of EDA tools -- not much ability
- to share development or support effort. So, those of you that
- have been on Mentor V7 before have much higher expectations than
- we did, and therefore the switch to V8 wasn't seen as a big deal by
- most of us. We have given Mentor a list of prioritized PERs
- to help with defining what to work on for 8.3. We're just getting
- switched from 8.05 to 8.1 at this time, and there certainly are major
- changes -- more than you might expect from an X.0 to X.1 update.
