- Well, I guess the message wasn't in the spirit of the season,
- so here comes some explanation:
-
- TopSoft started as a loose collectio of people wanting to write
- a useful utility, and release sample code for everyone to use.
-
- Since, several people feel that their goals have been perverted,
- since they got themselves business status, people with titles,
- and have looked into distributin via mail order houses.
-
- However, it seems there are two sides of the medal (surprise!)
- in that they HAD to register themselves for legal reasons, and
- that some people HAD to be "executives," and not all of those
- people were mature enough to take it for the "nothing" it was.
-
- It also turns out that all the projects will definately be available
- for free for FTP (if they ever get finished...) and mail-order
- was only thought of as for reaching a larger audience. However,
- I feel user groups would serve that purpose better.
-
- So they might not be all bad, maybe just some things about them
- rubbed me the wrong way, and if they actually deliver on their
- promises (new MacLayers, Gnu CC for the Mac and not to forget
- FilterTop, all with complete PD source free for the taking) I
- will take back what I said.
-
- Until then, you decide yourself (actually, you'll probably do
- that even after that :-)
-
- Cheers, and a very merry christmas to you all,
-

- There's no problem that can't be solved using brute-force algorithms
- and a sufficiently fast computer. Ergo, buy more hardware.
