- I dispute this finding. I had an NTX w/ 5M and replaced it with a IIg w/
- 8M and found that printing times dropped significantly. The drop was less
- pronounced on bitmaps, although the printouts were vastly improved.
-
- The thing that really sped things up was replacing AppleTalk with Ethernet.
- This resulted in a five times improvement in some printouts and made a lot
- of Postscript transfers almost instantaneous.
-
- I found that I used to avoid putting scanned pictures in my letters because
- to make them small enough to be unobtrusive also made them murky. Now I
- think nothing of tossing in a few 24 bit PICTs because they print so fast
- and clearly. It's heavenly.
-
- I'll never go back to the NTX!
