  12. Just got off the phone with Apple technical support for system 7.1 and
  13. as I have been stating for over a month THERE ARE NOT TO SUPPOSSED TO
  14. BE ANY FONTS IN THE SYSTEM FILE!
  15. In fact the person I talked to stated "We [Apple] are telling people to remove
  16. ALL the fonts from the system file in system 7.1.  ...when upgrading from a
  17. older system the installer leaves the old system fonts in the system file."  
  18. Though I could not get him to admit this is a bug in the installer from the
  19. evidence it is QED (Progression of logic) that there is a bug.
  20. A QED progression is a general true statement followed by a specific true
  21. statement and then a conclusion from the the two statements
  22. example:
  23. All men are mortal
  24. Charles Darwin was a man
  25. Therefore Charles Darwin was mortal
  26.  
  27. The QED in the case of the System 7.1 installer is as follows 
  28. 1) Bug: a programing error; error in syntax or logic; the program does not
  29. do what it is supposed to do( Dictionary of Computer Terms 3rd ed.)
  30. 2) System 7.1 install leaves fonts in the system file which should not
  31. be there. (From the Apple represenitive)
  32. 3) Therefore there is a bug in the System 7.1 installer.
