  11. I have need for a program that will treat the hard disk of a desktop 
  12. mac the same way as the hard disk of a powerbook. That is, I want the 
  13. desktop hard disk to fall asleep when not in use (after some 
  14. predesignated time period) and then start back up again as soon as it 
  15. is needed.
  16.     I have inherited a very large but very noisy external hard 
  17. disk, and would like it to stop spinning when not in use, just like the 
  18. hard disks on the powerbooks do.
