  19. UW-Madison (Wisconsin, USA) did something similar through today, 12/23/92.
  20. The prices were higher, though--about $1050 for the si, and $1450 for
  21. the ci (don't remember the config/prices combinations).

  23. Yeah--it made me sorry I'd bought my Classic II 4/80 for $1217 last February,
  24. which will never run color acceptably.  Then I remembered that 1) I could
  25. barely afford it back then 2) there was no LC II, just an LC, back then
  26. 3) the 13" color monitor was still around $500 extra.  So, those of you
  27. who got a "lesser" machine, remember that you've gotten good use out of it.

  29. But those of you yet to buy--there're some great deals (which will be
  30. superseded at some point in the next year, I'm sure)!

  32. I was told the si and ci are NOT being phased out, just that they'd
  33. "bought a whole lot of them and could pass the savings on" or something
  34. equally corny.
