  14. Anybody out there have experience with sending appleevents around
  15. between FileMaker Pro 2.0 and Frontier 2.0.

  17. I have these running on my FileMaker server and have Frontier backing
  18. up all the databases every 60 minutes to a AppleShare server. I want
  19. to have Frontier 2.0 set off certain scripts inside of my FileMaker
  20. databases (e.g. scripts to Relookup every record, scripts to generate
  21. weekly reports, etc...). Well,Ihave ran into a few snags with this.

  23.    1. Turns out that FileMaker Pro will not do a script in any database
  24.       except the frontmost database. So if I have script 'Relookup ALL'
  25.       in database A, but database B is in the foreground, it wont
  26.       execute.

  28.    2. Also, FileMaker will not execute the script until it is
  29.       brought to the foreground, a rather odd behaviour it seems
  30.       to me. Dont understand it at all.

  33. Sooo, to rememdy this I tried doing things like:

  35.       sys.bringAppToFront ("FileMaker Pro")

  37. and then sending the script, alas I couldn't get this to work... :(

  40. Well, anyone with experience with FileMaker Pro <--> Frontier 2.0
  41. that could help, I would be most indebted.

  46. BTW - I fully recommend Frontier 2.0 to any net managers out there.
  47. It is beautiful, has made my job much happier.
