- This is most likely a security feature. The delay is inserted after
- incorrect logins under the assumptions that:
- * legitimate users won't mistype their passwords very
- often, and
- * crackers will be easier to catch if they are on longer,
- and the delay after incorrect attempts will keep them on
- longer.

- There are probably more reasons... If it's not a security feature, then
- it's just slow ;-).
