  18. Do you have any TSRs loaded, that might be grabbing a slice of CPU time
  19. every now and then?  Screen savers, scheduling programs, FAX or other TSR
  20. comm software (like PC-Anywhere), etc. _may_ do this (many don't).
  21. Are you running under Desqview, or using a multitasking DOS shell like
  22. Windows?  You should be able to optimize DV to work, but I'm less
  23. confident about Windoze.
  24. Are your phone lines really noisy?
  25. At what point do the transfers fail?  Same # of bytes every time?  Same
  26. amount of real time (i.e. hh:mm:ss) into the transfer each time?  Or is it
  27. random?  The answers to these questions should at least begin to provide
  28. some clues.  Hope this helps.
