  10. I am running a 486DX33 and am having a problem with Microsoft windows.  I 
  11. have already posted a request for help on this subject in 
  12. Comp.Sys.Ibm.Pc, but have not gotten any responses of ANY sort.  Here is 
  13. my problem.  I am Completely unable to access my modem from windows.  In 
  14. fact, after I have exited windows, I am unable to use the modem, unless I 
  15. re-boot the computer.  My hardware consists of the following:
  16. 486DX33 Motherboard, OPTI Chipset, AMI Bios.  64k Cache, 16Mb 70Ns ram, 
  17. Trident 8900c 1Mb Svga Card, Multisync-clone monitor, Teac 1.2 Mb Floppy 
  18. as drive A:, 1.44Mb as drive B:.  DTC 6282 ESDI hard drive controller, 
  19. Maxtor EXT-4380 ESDI drive, MSC Compatible mouse connecxted to COM1: 
  20. Com2: present, but no device connected.  Nuvotel 14400IFX V32.bis Modem 
  21. on Com4:.
  22. I am running QEMM386 under MSDOS 5.0, and sometimes also am running 
  23. DesqView X.  I am NOT running Windows under DVX however.  I always start 
  24. windows out from MSDOS, with no software other than QEMM running.

  28. please do not flame me.  If this is the wrong place, please point me in 
  29. the right direction.
