- If anyone has had any experience with an NEC Express 66Te (tower version
- of the 66e) or the 66e I would be grateful to hear about it. I am
- considering purchasing one.
-
- A Gateway 2000 66 EISA with shipping and a 17" Nanao is US$ 4725, and a
- comparable NEC with a 5FG is US$ 5600. About the only differences between
- the machines are the NEC having more slots (12 vs 8) a larger power
- supply (385 vs 200), higher maximum RAM (256 vs 64) and no free Windows
- or applications software.
-
- It appears that one gets 'NEC quality' for a premium of around 20%. Is it
- worth it? If anyone has opinions on this matter, or good or bad experience
- with the NEC Express, I would be grateful.
-
- Thanks/mark
