- Like the original poster I was SICK of the beige drek that EVERYONE
- seems to be selling. When I was ready to start building my new Unix
- tower though there was damn little else available and I was resigned to
- being forced into buying yet another PCPCC (Politically Correct Personal
- Computer Cabinet :) ).
-
- Then I went to a hamfest with my pocket full of $$$$ ready to pick up
- said yucky beige horror when I spooted a sleek BLACK tower case. Room
- for all my drives, smoked plastic window over the exposed bays, plenty
- of breathing space for the new mother board, DAMN! It was very nearly a
- religious experience. I bought the beast after finding out it was the
- ONLY one they had ("We brought 3 and the other 2 went before we were
- completely unpacked"). So, down went my folding green and I now have
- this nice gleaming black cabinet standing near the old cheesy beige
- tower that will soon be moved from Unix to DOS.
-
- MORAL: The non-beige cabinets ARE out there but you'll pay for the
- desire to break from the pack. Mine was about $40 more than a comparable
- beige tower (the salesman said the price was for the "conductive
- paint".... riiiiiight).
-
- Now, about those damn GREEN mother boards........ :)
