- I am about to upgrade my 286 to a 386DX40 with OPTI chipset.
- I have seen a lot of postings about problems with OPTI chipsets
- with soundblaster, OS/2 etc.

- OPTI chipsets are well know and widely used. I am not likely to use
- OS/2 or Soundbalster (at least in the near future). However, I really
- need to use windows and various dos application.

- Is OPTI chipsets generally known as reliable and compatible with other
- hardware and most software? I'll apprectiate any opinions and experiences
- on OPTI chipsets.
