  12. I am about to upgrade my 286 to a 386DX40 with OPTI chipset.
  13. I have seen a lot of postings about problems with OPTI chipsets
  14. with soundblaster, OS/2 etc.

  16. OPTI chipsets are well know and widely used. I am not likely to use
  17. OS/2 or Soundbalster (at least in the near future). However, I really
  18. need to use windows and various dos application.
  19.  
  20. Is OPTI chipsets generally known as reliable and compatible with other
  21. hardware and most software? I'll apprectiate any opinions and experiences
  22. on OPTI chipsets.
