- Nope, sorry, Windows NT will be *SOURCE LEVEL* compatible, not binary compatible.
- In other words, each platform will have libraries with the same functionality,
- so an application developer will always have the same functionality available.
- Thus, it will be necessary to recompile for each platform, but the application
- writer only has to create a single set of source code files.

- As for Unix, a great deal of software is shipped as source code plus a Makefile,
- all of the GNU stuff comes to mind.
