- Question for those of you who have ever had experience with tape
- backups: How compatible are they with each other? Here's my specific
- problem. I'm running SCSI, whereas my father is running IDE. I want to
- be able to backup my data and bring the tape to his computer and restore
- any file (or perhaps ALL files). Obviously, if I get a SCSI tape backup,
- he won't be able to get the same model. Are all "QIC-150" models
- compatible, assuming that I use the same backup program (or does the
- software not matter)? Also, for the tape drives that claim to run off
- the floppy controller: do they actually have to REPLACE one of my floppy
- drives? (i.e., I lose drive B: entirely, forever?)
-
- Any help is greatly appreciated!
