-
- Well, if you want acceleration, you can adjust the speed setting in
- software. It can go from very slow to very fast. Perhaps you just haven't
- looked in the right place.. As for it's having 1 button, owing as the Mac
- was designed with human interface in mind, and mainly for application
- oriented software rather than the latest game, 1 button makes sense than 2,
- or 3 or more.

-
- Most major software packages for the Mac have built in help. If you're
- using System 7, and the application is a System 7 application, you have
- such a thing known as bubble help, that will pop up help on various
- commands.
-
- > If the mac is suppose to be truly a multitasking system, then

-
- Well it isn't supposed to be a "truly multitasking system" What it is, is a
- COOPERATIVE multitasking system JUST LIKE WINDOWS! System 7, is multifinder
- only. System 6, lets you use single finder mode a'la DOS or a multifinder.
- Apple is working on a new external, that will give it multithreading
- tasking.
-
- > If macs are catching on so much then why has windows os sold
- > more copies than all the macs sold?
-
- Because, IBM people have this habit of saying, every copy sold, is a copy
- used. See, Windows, is a cheap knockoff clone of the Mac interface. There
- are more P.C.'s in existence than Macs today, because of the cheaper
- quality components and because of the cheaper prices. You get what you pay
- for, in addition, the PC's have been around longer so it makes mild sense
- that a fair number of Windows software would be sold to people tired of
- having to stick with DOS, while Amiga, Mac, and everyone else uses a GUI.
-

-
- News to me. As for your "inexpensive add-ons" how about support. Do they
- actually work? And well, in a way you answered your own question. Base macs
- compared against base P.C.'s.. not base Macs compared against loaded
- P.c.'s.. is it Apple's fault if so and so does not ship certain systems
- with "standard" features such as built in networking, etc.?
-
- > If the mac was so successful, then why was apple so eager to be
- > friends with ibm.
-
- Thought it was the other way around. IBM wanted Apple's software, Apple
- wanted IBM's money and some tech.
-
- > Why hasnt motorola keep up to pace with intel with product
- > design?
-
- They have. Motorola 68040 is more powerful and efficient than Intel's 486.
- Remember, the P5 is not out, and neither is the 68060 so you can't really
- "keep pace" based on vaporware promises by companies. Remember, Strike
- Commander has been advertised for years now, and no show yet.
- Motorola's 680x0 line of processors, except for the RISC machines, are
- pretty much the de-facto standard on computer platforms including
- workstations like the Sparc, etc. It's only IBM clones that use Intels
- 80x86 line..
-
- > If the mac was so successful, why are so many mac software

-
- To make more money by widening their market.
-
- > If macs are designed so well, why are they now using pc-like
- > keyboards?
-
- Most computers use pc-like keyboards. Commodore 64 is an exception I
- suppose.. Why are you complaining? Don't you like PC keyboards?
-
- > If macs are so easy to use, then why is it that in our computer

-
- Depends. What kind of facility are you? Are you using the right software?
- Are they the right machines for the job? Were they set up by incompetent
- idiots? There's a lot of variables involved. Let's say your facility is a
- desktop publishing facility for example.. The P.C. lab is going to be the
- generally unused one. You see? It really depends.

- Indeed, and Karl Marx was better than Ben Franklin & Gang.
