  14.     I've been playing with the Proffesional Devolopment Link demo for
  15. a while now, and have come to like it, I'd like to get the real thing, but
  16. the cost is a little more then I can afford, hence I've started to save my
  17. pennies, but I also noticed that the kit includes a disk, cable and 
  18. programmers reference, but I already own these three things (legit cable
  19. too, from the Back to School promo) and was wondering if anyone knows if
  20. I can get a price break? The README file with the PDLDEMO program says
  21. I can get it for $30.00 US, but it doesn't mention if that applies to the
  22. promotional back to school kit, plus it says US only and I live in
  23. Canada. Further I still will have an extra Programmers Reference, does
  24. anyone know if I can get a bigger break still? I can kinda guess the
  25. answers to the questions, but I'm hoping someone will surprise me.

  27.     2nd. Part:
  28.     The PDLDEMO has the limitation that it can't save files, but I
  29. made a program up that when copied into the PDL directory will allow
  30. you to save your current application. It doesn't require any modification
  31. of any of HP's PDL files, and I've been using it succesfully for some
  32. time now. My question is, is this type of thing a violation of copyright
  33. law? It certainly violates the spirit in which the IPLDEMO was released,
  34. but how about legally. I'm wondering because I'd like to upload it to the
  35. group and to seq.uncwil.edu if there's general agreement that it's legal
  36. and if most people seem in favour of it's upload. Anyone?

  38. P.S. Flame me if you want for making such a program, but I feel no guilt
  39.      as I will buy the real thing as soon as I can afford, and I feel that
  40.      basically makes it all right, at least for me it does.
