- Howdy,
- I recall when the HP48sx was first released back in 1990 that many
- people noted that it did not have a very flexible alarm system. I don't
- recall the particular models that people mentioned but the bottom line
- seemed to be that the 48sx's repeating alarm are very basic.
-
- Well, I'm working on writing a complete repeating-alarm system for the
- 48sx and would like some ideas of what to incorporate. (This started out
- as a project to turn my 48sx into a fancy alarm clock. With a few
- extensions here and there, I've gotten quite a bit of code.) Before
- proceeding any farther, I would like to see what HP has previously done.
-
- Things that I have already incorporated:
- o weekday/weekend detection
- o public (Canadian) holiday detection
-
- I think that many people would like things like "2nd Thursday of every
- other month"-type alarms. What else?
-
- I would also like to find out how alarms worked in previous HP models.
- What syntax was used to specify the repeating intervals?
-
