  14.   I recall when the HP48sx was first released back in 1990 that many
  15.   people noted that it did not have a very flexible alarm system. I don't
  16.   recall the particular models that people mentioned but the bottom line
  17.   seemed to be that the 48sx's repeating alarm are very basic.

  19.   Well, I'm working on writing a complete repeating-alarm system for the
  20.   48sx and would like some ideas of what to incorporate. (This started out
  21.   as a project to turn my 48sx into a fancy alarm clock. With a few
  22.   extensions here and there, I've gotten quite a bit of code.) Before
  23.   proceeding any farther, I would like to see what HP has previously done.

  25.   Things that I have already incorporated:
  26.     o weekday/weekend detection
  27.     o public (Canadian) holiday detection
  28.  
  29.   I think that many people would like things like "2nd Thursday of every
  30.   other month"-type alarms. What else?
  31.  
  32.   I would also like to find out how alarms worked in previous HP models.
  33.   What syntax was used to specify the repeating intervals?
