  12.     I got the connection between my HP48 and the IBM worked
  13. yesterday.  However, I experienced some problems with it.
  14. In order to maker sure that the transfer will do a safe job,
  15. I tried to load the pacman.dir from HP48 to computer, and
  16. the computer to my VMS/VAX account, then reload them back
  17. on my HP48 by using ASCII fromat in I/O setup.  However,
  18. when I loaded them back, pacman would show the startup screen,
  19. but fail to run, displays "bad argment...".  
  20.     So, I was wondering, do I have to ASC-> a program everytime
  21. when I upload it to my computer and use ->ASC to decode it, or can
  22. I just use ASCII without doing any other changes? (notice that
  23. when I transfered the sting "sin x^2" from HP48 to computer and
  24. back, it worked just fine.  I don't understand what's wrong with
  25. a directory like pacman.
