  15. just upgraded to 9.0 from 8.0 on my 822/S and have a couple of comments.

  17.   - i did not do the LVM upgrade, can i do it later without a re-install?
  18.   - the NFS is *much* nicer, finally i can export root access and directories 
  19.     only

  21. On my 822/S (vintage October 1990) i need a firmware upgrade to allow the
  22. boot process to continue correctly. HP is doing this on Monday, but as it 
  23. stands now, there is a TWENTY MINUTE pause just after these messages:

  25. WARNING: Old HPIB firmware encountered.
  26. Operations using this firmware could take a VERY long time.

  28. they aren't kidding, you'll watch the disk lights flicker in a set pattern
  29. for 20 minutes, and then it will boot. these messages are just after the ISL
  30. hpux boot command, Santa knows what it is doing.
