  14.   I do not want to play down the severity of this problem, but these
  15. kind of cases are not what I had in mind with my "silent data corruption"
  16. reference. Your case is (potential) data loss, not data corruption. While
  17. inspection of the index would have revealed the problem, the problem is,
  18. for all practical purposes, indeed silent.
